In 2016 the German-American Heritage Museum of the USA™ is partnering with German Heritage Travel to offer German Heritage Trips to Europe. German Heritage Travel will offer discounted fairs to its members as well as to the members of our Club Members.

500 Anniversary of Reformation

Join us for a trip to Germany in the steps of Luther in advance of the 500th anniversary.  From May 27th to June 5th GAHF will be retracing the life of Luther.

Begin the journey in Berlin where we will meet up with the organizers.  Our main destination the Reformation City: Wittenberg.   This historic city is also home of Philipp Melanchthon, Johannes Bugenhagen, the artists Lucas Cranach the Elder and the Younger, amongst others. On the way we will visit the Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz; Eisenach with 850 years of history; Wartburg Castle, Wagner’s inspiration of his opera “Tannhäuser; Schloss Ehrenburg; Coburg; Nürenberg; Regernsburg; Augsburg.  We will even enjoy a short river cruise on the Danube.  We will end our trip in Munich, bidding you farewell home.

On October 31, 2017, we celebrate Marthin Luther’s recorded posting of the 95 theses was posted on the door of Wittenberg. What started in Wittenberg in the 16th century not only changed Germany and Europe but is also an important part of the immigration history of the German-Americans to the USA.
