PERMANENT EXHIBIT: IMMIGRATION TO AMERICA: A JOURNEY IN TIME ALL YEAR
The USA is a quilt of cultures, races and ethnicities. Of these groups the German are the largest, with about one sixth of the population having German speaking ancesters.
There were many reasons why German immigrants came to America. In the 17 hundreds it was religious freedom. In the 19th and 20th hundreds it was social and economic wellbeing or political prosecution.
The objective of this exhibit is to tell the story of these immigrants, their successes and failures and the overall impact they have had on this great nation.
No other country has such strong ties to America today as does Germany. We want to remember the past but also want to strengthen the political, cultural and economic ties between these two nations.
