In 1976 a group of visionary German-Americans came together under the leadership of Pastor Hans Haug to form an organization that would recognize and honor the positive economic, political, scientific, social and cultural contributions Americans of German speaking ancestry have had in the United States. The organization was then formally established in 1977 and soon after chartered as the United German-American Committee of the USA, Inc. – and now also known as the German-American Heritage Foundation of the USA® (GAHF).
To commemorate the 40 years of its inception, the German-American Heritage Foundation of the USA®, will launch its annual Fundraising Campaign under the theme of the “40 year Anniversary.”
The Campaign will roll out with stories from the founding members, a new website that showcases the contributions of our members and supporters, social media campaigns to engage a wider audience and of course our Council of 1000 Gala.

HOW YOUR CONTRIBUTION HELPS
While last year your funds strengthened the German-American Heritage Museum, this year we want to share the benefits with the rest of the country and with new audiences. Your contributions will allow us to:
- Increase the frequency of exhibits at the museum and make our exhibits available to a wider audience by creating traveling exhibits and digital exhibits.
- Reach out to existing club members and new members building stronger ties and new bridges to showcase them and their work, and share with them the exhibits and other resources available to us.
- Extend our events to engage a larger audience reaching out to young professionals, senior homes, families and children.
- Build a robust social media outreach to keep our audiences engaged and grow our followers list.
